Saved pages & reading
- Local page copies — Capture a page when you add a bookmark or save a copy later.
- In-app reader — Read captured pages inside Shelf when you want the saved version or the live page is unavailable.
- Copy management — Refresh an older capture, export an individual saved page, or remove its copy while keeping the bookmark.
- Capture progress — See when saved copies are queued, being captured, or ready to open.
Browsing & desktop comfort
- Grid and list layouts — Switch between visual bookmark cards and a compact list.
- Sorting — Sort by newest, oldest, title, website, or most visited.
- Visit history — See how often and how recently you have opened a bookmark.
- Adjustable interface — Choose interface scaling from 80% to 200%, with keyboard zoom shortcuts.
Import, export & storage
- Shelf and Raindrop.io imports — Bring in an existing CSV library through a guided importer.
- Import review — Inspect file and row problems before making changes, then cancel or import only valid entries.
- Duplicate-aware imports — See which entries were added, updated, or skipped, with collections created as needed.
- Full or filtered exports — Export your entire library or the bookmarks matching your current search and filters.
- Preserved bookmark details — Shelf CSV exports retain metadata, tags, collections, notes, favorites, archive status, and visit information.
- Storage location choice — Choose your library folder and filename; Shelf copies the library and saved pages to the new location.
Privacy & integrations
- Local library — Browse, organize, search, and read saved copies on your computer without creating a cloud account.
- Optional password lock — Lock Shelf immediately or after a chosen period of inactivity.
- Optional automation — Enable a local API to let your own tools add bookmarks and work with your library. New entries appear in the open app automatically.
Good to know
- Saved pages may depend on online images or other resources, so an offline copy may differ from the live page.
- The app lock protects access through Shelf; it does not encrypt library files, saved pages, or exports.
